Cedar Sinai Park in Portland, Oregon, has close to 100 years of experience providing for the needs of the Jewish community. Continually seeking ways to serve, it is in the midst of a growth phase to be one of the leaders to meet the demands of Portland’s senior adults and those in need of social services.
Cedar Sinai has grown from its origins of being a retirement home for Jewish seniors to an organization that now fulfills multiple needs, including assisted living, adult day services, special needs housing, in home care, Holocaust survivor services, and affordable housing with services. Our expansions from our simple beginnings in 1920 have grown from a single mission to that of caring for our broader community across the city.
This past July, CSP opened its first Oregon Green House®. Residents, families, and the public had the opportunity to tour the home to view the newest lifestyle advancement in senior living, and in late July residents settled in to their new home. Upon final completion, CSP will have four homes, each with twelve individual rooms built around a central living area and kitchen. The physical environment of a Green House® home is designed to transform the institutional nursing facility to an environment that is warm, supportive, and comforting.
In mid 2017 CSP will also be opening a new leading-edge, post-acute care facility. The services to be offered through this facility demonstrates CSP’s commitment to provide a best-practices curriculum to meet patient’s needs and expectations. This facility will be available to all Portland residents needing rehabilitation after surgery or illness, regardless of age or religious affiliation.
If you’ve never visited Portland, it is a beautiful destination city. We invite anyone coming to Portland to stop in, say hello, and see how we’re planning to live our next 100 years!
